A Boardgame store in Brooklyn that needed a refresh!

The Brooklyn Strategiest, or locally called BK Strat, was often mistaken to be a chess store. Their current brand didn’t reflect that they carry hundreds of games, have a cafe with coffee and beer, and offer tables for people to rent parties, events, or game night date night.

With this brand refresh, it was important to keep the essence of it’s original identity but add more excitement. I simplified the knight, removing the chess-like features and changed the ye-old chess-vibe font to a new bold but friendly font. Brighter colors, rounded corners, larger contrast in scale, all to create a friendly, exciting, and modern brand.

A fresh brand expressed

Along with a new logo came merchandise! New totes, swag, shirts, and even 6 sided dice. We also created several programs for their assorted offerings where were able to have some fun with applying iconic board game concepts to local Brooklyn life.
