Daily Burn

While working at OrangeYouGlad
Three exercise apps, one brand
Daily Burn is a fitness brand that wanted to expand their mostly web based offerings by creating a suite of mobile apps. I worked with my design team and Daily Burn’s core stakeholders and dev team to design the branding for each distinct app as well as build out each individual UX and UI. This involved creating core design patterns and managing a complex design library. In addition to this, I helped art direct and produce over 100 promotional marketing videos, social ads (video and static), emails, a refreshed website and an animated sticker set with over 1 million views!
In creating an app, we naturally had a lot of UX and UI to develop
We planned out the user flows of sign up, weekly workout plan generation, playing and tracking workouts, sharing user experiences with friends within the app, and browsing a library of workouts. It’s a lot to consider and organize but if done well, the user would have a seamless and intuitive experience navigating each app.
Yoga
We started with Yoga as a proof of concept. For the most zen of the apps, we leaned into the idea of flow. We introduced soothing waves set in a cool and calming colors.
Daily Burn offers an onboarding process that generates a custom weekly plan for the user. While a serious of questions could be a tedious process that leads to user drop off, we went with a succinct, icon-forward, one question at a time approach. This allows for the user to not feel overwhelmed and easily process each question.
Run
The running app is a sleeker, streamlined app with simple energetic visuals that reinforce the forward drive of running and reference the running path. While video is not needed, these audio guided workouts still use most of the same features as yoga, with a card systems to select the run, a breakdown with tons of data points, and a social component to share your run within the app.
High Intensity Interval Training
We wanted something punchy for HIIT! With the main UX flow established, the differences here were to integrate more motivational imagery, stats, and dynamic information to run alongside the workout. Larger illustrative cards and sharp brightly colored background graphics make HIIT stand out from the other two apps.
